Seems like everyone around the world is dying to be thin. Some are dieting, taking pills and even starving themselves. People diet for many different reasons. Some diet because they think they are overweight or just want to achieve a certain physical appearance. I think it is okay to diet and take pills but I disagree with starving yourself. Taking pills all the time is also risky. Some people go too far and take more than what is recommended and really put thier health at risk. They can overdose or get addicted and start treating it like a drug. If a person is constantly taking the pill and stop the use…eventually they are likely to gain the weight back.

Circumcision

Circumcision is the removal of all or some of the foreskin from the penis. Circumcision is a highly controversial subject, but most of the debate is over whether it should be done or not. Around the world, lots of different religions practice this as part of their culture. The rise of circumcision was associated with the great fear of masturbation and anxiety about juvenile sexuality generally. That is completely nonsense and really isn’t any information to back that statement up. I personally think males should not be circumcised until they get up to the age to understand what it is, the pros and cons and decide on their own. The parents or anyone else should be allowed to make the decision because they are not the ones to have to live with or without a circumcised penis and have to deal with the outcome possibly if it’s bad. Complications are possible with the procedure such as intraoperative bleeding and damage to the penis. The choice of this mutilation should be a choice of the male. Female circumcision, “female genital mutilation” is the partial or completely cutting away of the female genitalia. This procedure can cause death and is associated with lots of pain. It is usually done between the ages four and twelve. There are three types of removal processes. The first is clitoridectomy, some or the entire clitoris is amputated. The second is when the clitoris and the labia minor are completely removed and the last is when the clitoris, labia minor and major are cut off. The last type is the most severe. And only heals by stitching the area together, only leaving a passage big enough for urine and menstrual blood to flow through. Later on in the female life, lots of complications arise. Urinary tract infections are common because of the tiny space for urine to pass through. Menstrual flow maybe blocked, leading to reproductive tract infections and lowered fertility and sterility. Intercourse for both men and women with a female with this procedure can be very difficult and uncomfortable. Tearing and bleeding of the vagina can occur and be very painful. I think this process should never be done because of the complications. I don’t see any good out of this. Just as I said with the males, female circumcision should be totally up to the females when they are old enough to understand and decide on their own if they want to go through with it or not.

Hooking Up

Traditional dating is diminishing more and more as the years go by. Now days it is less common to see relationships other than people just “hooking up”. Hooking up is basically when two people who does not really know each other, hangs out to attempt to get to know each other and something sexual usually takes place. Even if sexual intercourse did not take place and oral sex did, it is still referred to as hooking up. Hooking up with someone does not necessarily imply an interest in a relationship, although sometimes it leads to a relationship. Random hook ups are where the two people had never met before the night and set something off, which often just leads to the two being “friends with benefits” meaning they hook up occasionally but a relationship is not present. Usually after a hook up, women tend to have emotions for that person where the male only sees it as a hook up for the most part. Men are in it for a good time where the women are most likely hoping for something more. Random hooking up and hook ups are a big disadvantage for a women, I think. It degrades her and jeopardizes her true character. After the hook up, the male may not look at her the same because he may think it was just too easy and may never want to be in a relationship with her. It used to be where a girl would not give it up to just anybody, they had to be wearing or holding the title as the girlfriend or even wife. Hook ups do not have a disadvantage for the males. A male can get away with hooking up and not be criticized for doing so, whereas a female would soon have a label placed on her. Engaging in such activity as sex or oral sex with a random person is not viewed well for a woman. She will be seen as a slutty female, a whore, tramp and a million other degrading things. When a male get a hook up it is a great thing, he is viewed as “the man” and receives kudos for it. Men get away with a lot of sexually explicit behavior just for being a male. Women cannot do nearly half the things and expect to be able to walk around the neighborhood with her head held high without receiving smirks, bad looks and gestures aimed at her.

Tag Body Spray

“Warning: use caution when wearing tag body spray in the vicinity of hot chicks. Uniquely designed to attract the ladies.” The commercial implies if guys wear tag body spray they will get any girl they want because basically the spray makes the girls be attracted to them. It simply states it is designed to attract the ladies. There are several different commercials. The one that sticks out in my head the most is the one when the guy sprays on tag before he gets out the car to walk up to his date’s house to pick her up to go out. The girl’s mother answers the door to let him in, and all of a sudden she is becoming attracted and making a move on him due to the way he smells. She makes it seem as if he is smelling like a dozen roses or a brand new pair of shoes. She is looking at him very seductively and walking slow towards him trying to be sexy in regards to him. At the same time she is telling him she likes his hair color and to call her Bonnie instead of Mrs. Drake while the buttons on here shirt are popping off to show the audience she is getting really into him. He is wearing an ordinary plaid shirt and is very young looking. Sort if strange to see an older woman aroused by someone who looks like he can be her son. Its hilarious, but the meaning of the whole commercial is simply non sense. All of a sudden she is just realizing how fond she is of his eye color and gives him permission to call her by her first name when usually it is inappropriate to acknowledge an adult like that. But I guess it was okay that time because he was that hot guy tag makes you out.

A body spray can not make a female fall for you that easily. I mean, she may realize you smell really nice and may love it, but the idea of sexual activities is way beyond tag body spray and is clearly unreal and hard to accept. Magazine ads and commercials are the best way to sell products. In another tag commercial it’s a warning for guys to avoid cheerleaders while wearing tag body spray. It shows the male walking past the cheerleaders as they are practicing a stunt. As soon as the guy walks pass, the cheerleader from the top of the stunt dives down from the top jumping on him as if she needs him right now. The fallacy of the commercial is very successful. Many men goes out and buys tag body spray due to the message the commercial implies. I had a friend who actually believed the message from the commercial. He really went out and bought the body spray thinking it would really work. Turns out it did not at all. The next day in school he was the same unattractive John. He then found out it was really a fallacy. Some may absolutely adore the scent of tag body spray but I really do not think its enough to arouse anyone. When John wore it I wasn’t aroused at all. The names of the body sprays are ridiculous. They have names such as All nighter, Lucky Day, Stay up, After hours and first move. The producers of tag labeled the body spray with those names to really get the message through about the product. It really isn’t the product selling it is the whole idea of sex selling. The producers of the product knew what group to tackle and just how to do it. They went after the younger crowd of boys knowing they are easily manipulated and believes just about anything.

Random thought on Polygamy

Monogamy is marriage that unites two spouses together, man and woman or same sex marriage as long as it is between two people and no more, it is considered to be a monogamous relationship. Monogamous relationships are the most common type of relationship in higher income societies. The United States only allows monogamous relationships and disapproves of polygamy. Polygamy is marriage or the unity of a person with two or more spouses. There are two forms of polygamy. It can be a result of a male with two or more partners known as polygyny or a female with two or more partners which is known as polyandry. Polygamy usually takes place in lower income societies such as Africa and southern Asia. Islamic nations and Africa allows men to have up to four wives. Anyone would most likely think it would be hard for lower income nations to allow polygamy relationships due to the fact of money issues. How does the men bear the responsibility of caring and supporting all of their wives? Legalizing polygamy in the United States could cause a negative and also a positive response within the society. It would be very unusual and different for us people in the United States to adjust to the sudden change. If someone is use to doing something one way most likely it is going to be hard to make the adjustment. Women and men in the United States are very jealous. Even though it is the norm to be involved in a monogamous relationship, lots of polygamy takes place behind the spouses back. It is very common to hear about an assault or even a murder taking place due to the fact of a partner finding out about their spouse’s significant other. Just because that happens when it is not allowed does not guarantee it to disappear if it ever becomes legal. Some of the United States citizens may accept the new law or some may just simply ignore it because they are not use to it and just cannot accept it. The citizens who accept it may be the ones who were usually doing the cheating and sleeping around on their partners. The ones who would disagree with making polygamy legal are the individuals who are completely into monogamous relationships and believe in only having one spouse instead of many. Allowing polygamy can also take a toll on the children within a family. In a monogamous relationship, both parents are around to raise the children together, whereas in a polygamy relationship that is not always the case. The positive outcome could be that it would wipe out the option of committing adultery. That would be one less sin to not worrying about disobeying. People’s feelings would not be hurt as often as now because it would be a part of their society. It would be normal to be the other person and know about it. There is nothing worse than not knowing and then finding out.

Greek Life

Could you imagine yourself being a part of one of the biggest organizations on a college campus? Watching the boot stomping and loud chanting groups on campus looks like a lot of fun to many new college students. Greek life plays a big role to most college students. The Greeks are spilt up into two groups known as fraternities meaning brother and sororities meaning sister. You become a part of one or the other depending on your sex. Fraternities are the males groups and sororities are the female groups. These organizations are very social. Mostly all of the fraternities/sororities have houses that they all live in together. By this everyone involved in that particular group gets to know each other very well and establish close relationships like brother and sisters, that exactly what you become to them, a brother or sister and they refer to you as that. Greeks are like the trendsetters on campus, throwing parties and social events that attract everyone. All of the members are very active within and outside the social groups. They contribute most of their time to the community doing community service, raising money for local charities, donating items, picking up trash surrounding the community and focus on trying to make the world a better place. Not everyone is interested in becoming a part of the organizations. Some people feel as if it is not for them and others that join thinks otherwise. Becoming a part of the greek life can be easy for some and quite difficult for others.
